Each year, SSWAA holds Board elections for open positions on the SSWAA Board of Directors. Board Members are elected by the SSWAA membership and serve to set a strategic direction for the association ensuring that the mission is advanced, applicable laws and regulations are followed, and overseeing prudent use of resources to meet the association's mission. Serving on the SSWAA Board of Directors is an excellent way to contribute and develop leadership skills while working for the advancement of the profession.
2024 Board Election Timeline
Below is the timeline for board elections for the SSWAA Board. The positions that will be open for election are Standards and Practice Representative, Midwest Representative, Northeastern Representative, and Student Representative.

Board Nominations Open / Applications Accepted
September 29
Board Nominations Close
October 1-10
Nominations Committee review applications and select at least a double slate of candidates, whenever possible.
October 11
Slate of candidates sent to the Board President for Board notification.
October 24-November 7
Voting open for election of board members.
november 10-17
SSWAA Board President notifies election results to candidates.
november 17
SSWAA announces results to membership.
January 1
Elected Board Members take office.
